Lana Tang is the founder and owner of Athyn Insights, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit and deep commitment to empowering people through technology. With experience spanning knowledge management, project accounting, and event coordination, Lana has consistently focused on connecting people with the information and tools they need to succeed.

Her entrepreneurial journey includes founding and operating her own floral design business, where she learned firsthand what it takes to build a company from the ground up. At Gensler, she served as a "human search engine"—connecting teams across six Asia offices and creating frameworks that made knowledge accessible and actionable. This people-first approach, combined with her experience in financial management and project coordination, informs Athyn Insights' mission to democratize data science tools and help government professionals realize their full potential.

Lana's greatest passion is helping other people realize their talents. She founded Athyn Insights in 2021 with the vision that cutting-edge data science and AI tools should be accessible to those who need them most, not just those with technical backgrounds.

Blake Holmes

Blake Holmes is a seasoned data scientist and technology leader with a proven track record of leading high-impact data projects. Previously a Foreign Service officer, he is now contracting as a data science engineer at the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Technology.

Blake is a zealot for democratizing data science tools, which led him to help build Funhouse, State's AI-powered enterprise data science innovation lab that transforms data into actionable insights, now serving over 700 users across 60+ countries and 30+ bureaus. Blake enjoys mitigating the unique cybersecurity challenges that come with bringing cutting-edge AI tools to the U.S. Government.

Terri John

Terri John is a data scientist leveraging deep experience within the U.S. Department of State to translate complex data into actionable insights, solve operational challenges, and elevate decision-making for stakeholders. She has enhanced global IT operations by developing and implementing advanced data analytics solutions, including Splunk dashboards and custom alerts, leading to improved operational efficiency and compliance across global sites.

Terri designs and optimizes PowerApps and Power Automate workflows, streamlining project and workload management while integrating multiple data sources. She conducts end-to-end analysis of qualitative and quantitative survey data, applying statistical methods and sentiment analysis to derive actionable insights for leadership. With expertise in Python, SQL, machine learning, and the Microsoft Power Suite, Terri champions a 'Field First' approach, scaling innovative ideas from local offices into enterprise-wide analytics tools.

Drew Hernandez

Drew Hernandez is a software engineer contracted with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Technology. He has developed automation and data solutions that improved cybersecurity operations, accelerated project delivery, and saved over $35K/month in operational costs.

Drew engineered a bi-directional data pipeline between Splunk and SharePoint using Python and Microsoft Graph, enabling 250+ daily users to automate data imports for analysis and export results for enterprise-wide sharing. He automated security analysis and reporting using Databricks and the Azure Python SDK, creating AI-driven reports that reduce manual effort by 55% and standardize analysis for Information System Security Officers worldwide. With expertise in Python, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Splunk, Docker, and Databricks, Drew collaborates with data analysts to capture requirements and develop intuitive solutions that improve efficiency and accelerate project delivery timelines.
